My sincere condolences to the family, friends and all who knew Dave. Dave represented CNH Capital as outside counsel for over 20 years in bankruptcy, state court and collection legal matters,18 years of that working directly with me on such assigned legal matters. He was an incredible attorney and excellent communicator, always eager to help and make my job easier! Over the years, he also became a good friend! My last emails and call with him were in early April, which speaks volumes of his dedication to his legal clients, and my heart sank as I wish him the very best days ahead and said good-bye on that call as I knew it would be my last time speaking to him. He will be incredibly missed by myself and our legal team here at CNH Capital.

I started in private practice at Thorp Reed in 1977. Dave’s father headed the tax department then. It has been many years since I have seen David, but I will also remember his friendly smile as well as the kind and gracious way he treated everyone.

Dave and I met at JFK International in August, 1967. We were on our way to Tokyo for sophomore year abroad and we decided to be roommates. Though separated by 1400 miles after graduation, we remained lifelong friends. When we talked there was no distance between us. His memory will live on in my heart. I love you Dave. Tom Smith

Tom, my parents, Dave’s Aunt and Uncle, drove Dave that morning in August 1967 to JFK, They allowed me to go with them. I was 14 and in awe of David and remember that day like it was yesterday
