Her name was Marion, but we called her Aunt Meme; she looked life straight in the eye, was a congenial wit loaded with common sense. She loved the gatherings amongst her siblings, and I loved to watch them as they teased, cajoled, supported and comforted each other throughout the years… a brother (my father) and his three sisters… and of course, their spouses. Aunt Meme was one of the three Fry girls who became sisters to my mother, an only child. Mom was deeply appreciative for the way they had welcomed her into the Fry family and became the siblings that she’d never had as a child. I am so grateful to have had Aunt Meme in my life, and cherish the memories that we created. My sincere condolences to her family for the loss of their mother, Nanny and Nanny the Great. I wish them peace to bring comfort, courage to face the days ahead, and loving memories to forever hold her dear in their hearts.
