Gretchen Shanna

Age 42, of Scott Twp., on December 18, 2023. Beloved wife of Karl Christmann, loving daughter of Henry and Susan (Bennett) Carik, devoted sister of Anna (Phillip) Wright and the late Amy Beth Carik and Daniel Sean Carik, daughter in law of Deborah and the late Keith Christmann, granddaughter of the late Virginia Carik. She will be missed by her dog daughter Addison and dog niece Lucy. Gretchen was a longtime employee of Bedner’s Farm Market, Upper St. Clair, where she loved to share her knowledge of planting and growing with her customers. She enjoyed gardening, landscaping, canning, and cooking. She was a fantastic cook and was a true “Grillmaster”. She loved all God’s creatures, but especially dogs. An avid Steelers fan, she found much joy in scratch off lottery tickets. Gretchen always followed through on what she said she would do. Friends received Thursday, December 21, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333), where a funeral service will be held Friday at 10 am.
