Ciao. I'm very sorry to see that Tom passed away. I have a lot of memories of Tom, Blanche, Amy, and Brian, growing up as their next door neighbor. The world was a better and funnier place with Tom in it.

Tom was a terrific guy. My condolences
go out to the Hughan family. I reflect
back to those great days of yesteryear
where Tom and I were extremely active
in the Saint Agatha’s ( now Holy Child)
men’s club. I am certain that God, Jesus,
The Blessed Mother, and all the Saints
have welcomed Tom into the Kingdom.
He will be missed. Bob Reese

"Proud" is the perfect word to describe this perfect gentleman. During the time that I got to know Tom over the past few years, he shared much of his life's history with me. From the time during which he grew up in Bridgeville, including service within his church and later work on Pittsburgh bridges, his stories were told with pride. I'll not forget how Tom, in spite of his feeling ill, managed to dress in uniform, ride in the local parade, and attend outdoor services last Memorial Day. He donned quite a smile as he was honored for his services as a veteran and legion commander. I'd have to say, though, that the utmost pride that Tom felt was for his family. He enjoyed telling of Brian's accomplishments, as well as Mark's perpetually helpful nature. Tom referred to Amy and Mia as "My Girls", while always sharing the latest photos of both. His family stories were endless. - My proud gentleman of a friend will always be admired for his orchestrating a life well-lived. Tom will be truly missed.

Losing our beloved "Pappy" has left us truly heartbroken. Pappy was the kindest, most dedicated, respectable, loyal, incredibly funny, inclusive human being we have ever met (and a man of many disguises!) He did not bring smiles to our faces; he brought up ROARING LAUGHTER during each encounter we had with him from the very first time we met him. Every single memory we have of/with him is that of exceeding joy! Truly devastated by his passing.
Much love, Maritza, Wayne, and Juliana

Although I never met Tom, I love reading his referral about himself! THE HANDS THAT BUILT PITTSBURGH!
What a significant description of yourself and your lasting impact on the city where he grew up and raised his family!
I also, thought of the saying, “ A picture is worth a thousand words!”
His smiling picture portrays his loving personality and reading his lifetime achievements is significant of his lifelong devotion for his country, his family, his friends, and his church,
Sincere sympathy to all Tom’s family and friends.
Rest In Peace.
