Age 91, of Upper St. Clair, on August 20, 2023. Beloved husband of the late Lillian F. (Miller) Kardos, for 64 years; loving father of Susan (Michael) Kovalcik, Diane Kardos Criste and John M. (Nancy) Kardos; grandfather of Jacqueline (Luke) Barefoot, Michele (Troy) Gittings, Ryan (Cathy) Criste, Danielle (Daryl) Sherred, John (Laura) Kardos, David Kovalcik and Kelly Kardos, brother of the late Anna (late Ernest) Zibrat. Also survived by 15 great-grandchildren. John was a graduate of North Catholic High School and Duquesne University. He owned and operated Union Apparel, Norvelt, PA, and was a longtime member of Resurrection Parish. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed playing golf with his friends. Family and friends received Wednesday, 2-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, 10 am, at St. Thomas More Church of Resurrection Parish.
