Obituary of Joann (Russo) Villani
Joann Villani of Bridgeville, PA died peacefully at the age of 88 on June 8, 2023, surrounded by her family. She was the daughter of the late Louis Sr and Anna (Prezioso) Russo; beloved wife to the late Elmer Villani; devoted mother of Annamarie Villani, Debbie (Tom) Rotthoff, Ron (Marie) Villani, and the late Howard (Rita) Villani; cherished grandmother “Nana” to Vito (Lisa), Nena (Brian), Isabella (Justin), Maria (Jake), and Anna (Joseph); treasured great-grandmother of Luca, Nico, Amelia, Anthony, and Luke; sister of Louis Jr. (Pam) Russo, Lois Ann Russo, the late Sebastian “Sonny” (Carol) Russo, and the late Richard (Donamarie) Russo. She is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. Joann was the true matriarch and lifeblood of her family. One of her greatest joys in life was to bring her loved ones together with her amazing, Italian cooking; warm hospitality, and glowing
spirit. She had a wonderful gift of making everyone feel at home; walking into Nana’s house you’d guarantee to be met with Italian music, a glass of wine, cheeses, peppers, and lots of laughter. In addition to her passion for family, Joann was creative and hard-working; she shared her talents through her restaurant and flower shop. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, June 19, 10 am, at Holy Child Church of Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT THE CHURCH). Interment immediately following at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Peters Township. Following the burial, there will be a Celebration of her Life at the Hickory Heights Golf Club in South Fayette.
