Dick was a caring person. There are so many positive ways Dick will be remembered. For me, the word caring comes top of my mind. When Dick was talking with me, either in person or over the phone, I knew he was really listening – because he cared. He offered training and guidance like a professional, with mentorship, and in some ways, a father figure – because he cared. He also wanted business to be fair for all, beneficial for all – because he cared.
While I will miss Dick, his business and life lessons will benefit my company and me forever.

I am saddened to learn of Dick’s passing. As a dealer of his product line over many years, I was afforded his wit, his wisdom and his absolute knowledge of the industry that he lived so much. More so, his passion for success was always more about others than himself and even his proud boasting for his beloved Steelers was respectfully delivered to this Ravens fan. He was a gentleman and a gentle man. One of the good guys.

It is with a sad heart I am writing this note. I lost a mentor, a friend and a brother. He showed me more than I could ever express in the past 13 years of working together. I hope he knew how much he meant to me as a family, as we all do. I did not take the time to tell him how I felt, and now I cannot. We should all remember to tell someone you care and say thank you every day. Thank you Richard. We love you!

I will miss Dick Bartolomeo dearly. He was sales and I was marketing at Pro Materials. We supported each other's roles in the company and worked together to provide the absolute best service for our customers. I will forever remember our top of the morning and weekly check-ins. Dick became my industry mentor and I learned so much from him. We leaned on each other... he had all the wisdom, knowledge and expertise and I had the latest tech know-how. Dick was always ready and willing to embrace new things and I really admired that about him. I respected him greatly. He was kind, strong and courageous even in the midst of adversity.
My condolences to Joyce, Josh, Shane and the entire Bartolomeo family. It was such a privilege and honor to work with Dick. May his memory live on forever.

It is with a heavy heart I speak reverently about my friend Dick. It quickly brings to my mind phrases such as unique, hardworking, reliable, and knowledgeable. For in truth, Dick was all of these things in good times, tough times, bad times, and unpredictable times. He mentored, guided, directed, advised, and gave good counsel to those who sought him out. He brought unbridled passion to his chosen profession and left those he mentored with great and positive feelings for their endeavors.
Our industry and those with whom he interacted are lesser with his departure, and we are entrusted with a responsibility to pass on what he has taught us. May God in his infinite wisdom surround his family with a route to healing in this time of grief, while treasuring the great memories he left with those whose lives he touched.

I had the privilege of knowing Dick for over 20 years and his work ethic and generosity always stood out.
I have many memories of our conversations at seminars, but one that stands out occurred nearly 20 years ago.
It was the first time I had ever spoken at one of our events and I was extremely nervous. After I was done, I went to clear my head in the hallway and Dick approached me and said a few simple but powerful words: “You are doing great Brad. I can’t wait to see what you accomplish.”
At that age, I didn’t fully appreciate his inspirational words, but as I continued to grow I always held onto that message.
My prayers are with Dick’s family and his work associates during thi time.

It is so sad to know that we have lost our great friend and mentor, Dick Bartolomeo. Our paths first crossed when we both worked for Alside Supply which later became U.S. Steel Building Products. In our industry there was simply no one like Dick.Dick loved what he did and he did it with a passion that shined through with every person he met. I was so happy when Dick acccepted my offer to come to work for our company. For the last 15 years or so we have had such a great time in an industry that we both loved. Dick will also be missed by all our employees who loved it when he would be in Atlanta to share all his his great stories. For me, I will miss my good friend

Dick was a great friend for nearly 30 years. He always had a smile, a positive attitude, and many great ideas to share. I always loved the time we were able to spend together and our many phone calls. Dick was a rare person as an absolute genius in the remodeling industry, a fantastic trainer that constantly amazed people. I will join so many who will miss him. To his family, thank you for sharing him. He touched a lot of lives and helped a lot of people have better lives because they knew him. I thank God that he had Dick come into my life so many years ago.
