To the Joe Webb family, I would like to express my condolences on your loss. Joe Webb is a good man and it was always a joy to be in his company. As a Marine to a soldier, he always had a witty comeback. As a fellow brother in blue, you have served our country admirably. God speed, sir.

I can't share “a” memory of Joseph “Buddy” Webb. I have over seventy years of memories. Our mothers were sisters and as children we were frequently together, and although he was almost four years older than me, he would engage in games and activities with me like an older brother. When I outgrew my bike, he gave me his, when I was eleven and being bullied by some older teenagers, he put a stop to it. Later when I was in the Army I would sometimes hitch-hike home on weekends, and on Sundays he would drive me down to the turnpike to give me a start on my way back. After he came out of the Army we both were police officers for several years together, but with different departments. We frequently got together to share a few beers and war stories. We went to Pitt together and sometimes had a beer together after night classes, and also got together with our wives occasionally. We stayed in touch over the later years.
Bud was a friendly and warm person with a lot of friends. He was always upbeat, and in all those years I never saw him angry, treat anyone with disrespect or say a bad word about anyone. He will be missed greatly by his family and friends.
He was my cousin and friend. Rest in peace Bud, I will never forget you.
