Dearest Gary,
Everyone, regardless of age, is a child upon the loss of a parent. Our parents serve as our anchor as we sail through life; and when we lose them, we seem "rudderless" for a while. However, I know that your mom was a resilient person, and the apple doesn't fall far from the tree.
I recall the impish grin that you always displayed when you spoke of her. Your adoration was so obvious, and your mother, no doubt, returned that love in full measure. Please know that my thoughts and prayers are with you as you go through this transitional period. How lucky you are to have had her as long as you did.
