Jeannette Cecilia (Murray)
Age 89, of Jamestown, PA formerly of Scott Twp., on Sunday, May 6, 2012. She was born in Pittsburgh on August 19, 1922 to John Edmund Murray and Winifred Dawson Murray.
Beloved wife for 65 years of Joseph P. Stein, Sr. who passed away in December; loving mother of Joseph P. (Karen) Stein Jr., Maureen (Andrew) Karl, Paul J. Stein, Robert E. Stein, Marita (Tom) Gilligan, Janet A. Stein and the late Denis M. Stein and his wife Maureen, who survives; devoted grandmother of Lauren McLean, Rebecca Fisher, Jeffrey and Joseph Paul Stein III; Alison Forman, Brian and Timothy Karl; David, Mary and Peter Stein, Melissa Schwarzmeier, Kristen and Michael Stein; Meghan, Bridget, and Molly Gilligan; Justin Stein;11 great-grandchildren; and sister of Edmund Murray of Zelienople, PA.
Mrs. Stein was a graduate of Most Holy Rosary High School and the Pittsburgh Hospital School of Nursing. After graduating in 1944, she served in the Army Nurse Corps during WWII. She married Joe on February 14, 1946 and devoted her life to making a loving home for him and their 7 children. Jeannette was devoted to her faith and a long-time member of the Archconfraternity of the Christian Mothers at St. Bernard"s and Our Lady of Grace parishes in Pittsburgh. More recently as a parishioner of Our Lady of Victory Church in Andover, OH, she was active in the Altar and Rosary Society and served as a Eucharistic Minister.
Friends received Wednesday, 4:30 – 7:30 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10 AM, in Our Lady of Grace Church; Scott Twp. Interment will follow in Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
