The BHS Class of 1958 was privileged to have Miss Lutz as our special honored guest at our 60th class reunion on October 6, 2018. Miss Lutz was so vibrant, humorous and entertaining. I'm glad I took some photos of her as she proceeded to amaze us with her sharp memory and quick wit. I thought she was going to outlive all of us. She will always be a treasure of Bridgeville...simply wonderful!

You were a great teacher and a lasting friend. Nick and I both respected you and loved talking to you at the 1960 class reunions. You looked at us both at one of the reunions and said "I remember you two holding hands at Bridgeville High School and knew this was a love that would last" She remembered all of her students and was truly the best human being on earth and God and heaven will hold her hand forever. I'm so sorry that I was not able to be at the viewing or funeral because I was out of town this week. I have fond memories of Gloria. We had such good times together growing up. Cecilia (Dutchy) Lang Mulkeen

Gloria was a loved neighbor and cherished friend. Susan, Sandra, and our late brother, Fred Edinger, don’t remember life without her. Her family defined what it meant to be good neighbors. We were welcomed warmly by the Lutz and Malarkey families generously during our childhoods to join them in childhood’s simple blessings. And Mom and Dad had welcoming and trustworthy friends.
Gloria had an impressive mind and a love guided by her faith. Susan was lucky to be her student for 2 years in high school. The Edinger family, including our four-legged members, was especially blessed for 62 years, sharing our lives’ ups and downs with her. Her quiet, reliable support has been valued by us our whole lives. Gloria was unshakable in her faith quietly embodying caritas as no one I knew. She was devoted beyond compare to her family, dedicated to all her students (Nadine Likar Yenni, Class of 1973, simply commented “A legend has past.”) Gloria was generous in body and soul to the Edinger family as we traveled together side by side for so long through this life. We have no words to express our appreciation.
We will mourn her absence, but be forever grateful for her special friendship (always sprinkled by a hint of whimsy) for the remainder of our lives. To all the Malarkeys, our profound sympathy. We know how much she loved you and how much your love sustained her. Love and Peace, Susan and Sandra Edinger
P.S. Gloria knew how much I cherished good writing. She taught me how to make it powerful, complete, and polished. I just couldn’t write less and do justice to her. Gratefully, Susan.
