Obituary of Frank G. Erdeljac
Entered Eternity on April 10, 2017, in his 88th year of life – the Son of Frank Erdeljac and Mary (Mazer) Erdeljac. A resident of South Fayette Township. A Priest for the Diocese of Pittsburgh for 34 years – ordained in 1983 with a Master of Divinity. Affectionately known as “Father Frank” – he served for 25 years as a Retreat Master for the Encounter of Silence, served many Pittsburgh Parishes – St. Joseph the Worker, St. James, St. Francis de Sales, St. Vincent de Paul – was Hospital Chaplain for New Castle Hospitals – and Chaplain for the Sisters of the Humility of Mary. He was a member of the Cursillo Movement since 1974 – for 43 years – and as Spiritual Director after his ordination. Prior to his call to the Priesthood, he worked as a Microbiologist for the Allegheny County Health Dept, holding a MS in Microbiology. He enjoyed traveling, reading, cooking and a good conversation over dinner. He loved being with his family and his many dear friends. Beloved brother of Anne (late Robert) Perella and the late Marie Erdeljac, Joseph (Marie) Erdeljac and Frances (Richard) Haskins. He is also survived by many loving nieces and nephews. Friends received Saturday, 3-8 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). Additional viewing in-state on Monday, 9-11 AM, in Holy Child Parish, Bridgeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11 AM, with the Most Rev. David A. Zubik, Bishop of Pittsburgh, as Celebrant. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Little Sisters of the Poor.
