My aunt Dee was a very special woman. I always loved visiting her when I was a kid, I think it's because she was so honest and real - she had no barrier or facade, she didn't hold you at arms length, she pulled you right in for a big bear hug. I remember summer visits and her making vats of sweet tea - there was so much sugar, but it was yummy. I remember her always retelling the story of one time when I was about 3 or 4, I lived in San Antonio, Texas and I had the thickest, twangiest accent and I said "Auuuunnnt Deeeeee, why are your nails so lonnnng." They were long, and always done well. I remember a story my mom recanted, something like - they were at dinner and Dee never shy to speak her mind, stuck her fork in a radish, waived it overhead like a scepter and declared "By Rights - that pool should not be opened until the first of June" or something like that. I wish I had made more of an effort to stay in touch with her. There is no such thing as having "enough" time with a person, you will always regret not having that one more conversation, or not returning that call in time - so make the effort and cherish the time you do have, with everyone. I pray for Dee and that her soul finds eternal peace, I pray for uncle Denny to find peace and meaning in this world, to be ever filled with Dee's spirit and energy, and to not be lonely. I pray for my mom, Debbie Murray, that she continues to be connected to her sister in spirit, as she is to their mom. Finally I wish comfort and peace for Aunt Jan, Uncle Richard, my cousins Sarah, Krissy and Molly, who all spent a lot of time bonding with Aunt Dee, especially Sarah who spent many summer days making art with Dee, and for everyone whom Dee was a part of your lives. Much love, Zach Murray
