Obituary of William D. Morgan
Age 89, of South Fayette Twp., formerly of Cecil Twp., on December 29, 2016. He was born on May 23, 1927, in Cecil. A son of Robert and Sarah Alice Dinsmore Morgan. On February 11, 1950, he married Mildred Parkes, who died in 2013. A veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Morgan worked as a carpenter and heavy equipment operator for Schneider Construction and owned and operated the family farm for his entire life. He was a longtime member of Gladden U.P. Church and a member of Millers Run Grange #2020. He also belonged to the Pennsylvania Farm Bureau and the Millers Run Cemetery Assoc. Beloved husband of the late Mildred (Parkes) Morgan; loving father of Jeffrey, Donald (Jody) and Pamela Morgan; cherished grandfather of Christopher (Christine), William, Andrew, Cynthia and David Morgan; preceded in death by his sister Wilma (the late Darl) Kordes and brothers Robert (Rose) and Leroy (the late Clara) Morgan; he is also survived by many nieces and nephews. Family and friends received on Monday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333), where a service will be held on Tuesday at 11 AM. Memorials may be made to the Washington County Humane Society or the American Heart Association.
