Obituary of Regina Ruth Benson
Age 84, of Eighty-Four, died on September 7, 2016, in St. Clair Hospital, after a brief illness. She was born on November 30, 1931 in Canonsburg, PA. A daughter of John J. and Elizabeth C. Dudash Karpy. On March 2, 1956, she married Hubert Willis Benson. She was a 1949 graduate of Canon – McMillian High School. Regina worked for over 10 years at the Dental Office of Dr. Donaldson and Dr. Boggs and then worked at Ames, until she retired to care for her granddaughter Chelsea. She found the most happiness in her family and friends; she loved to cook, crochet and was a grand storyteller. She is survived by her daughter Jennifer Benson, two grandchildren; Chelsea and Trevor Benson, two brothers; Bob and Bill Karpy, a sister; Donna Few, and many others that loved her dearly. She is preceded in death by her husband; Hubert Benson, two sons; Robert and William Benson, two sisters; Dorothy Vehar and Kathy Karpy, a brother; Joseph Karpy, a brother-in-law; John “Bud” Few and her nephew; Brett Karpy. Family and friends received on Sunday, September 11, from noon-4 and 6-9 PM, at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333), where a funeral service will be held on Monday at 11 AM with Pastor Debra Rogosky of the First United Methodist Church of Canonsburg. Interment to follow in Woodruff Memorial Park, North Strabane Township.
