Obituary of Curtis David Copeland

Copeland Curtis David, Sr. Age 86, of Bridgeville, on May 15, 2016. Beloved husband of Betty (Johnson) Copeland, loving father of Curtis David Copeland, Jr., Lorraine (Jude) Copeland Kearney and Antoinette Copeland, cherished grandfather of Jude David Kearney and Kathryn Elizabeth Kearney, son of the late Maryland and Lula (Alston) Copeland, brother of the late Maybelle Anderson, Roy Copeland, Rochelle Harris and Thelma Kennedy. A veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. Mr. Copeland was the Bridgeville Postmaster for many years, retiring in 1987 and a lifetime member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeville, where he served as a Deacon. He was elected as a Councilman for the Bridgeville Borough, and was appointed as a member of the Zoning Hearing Board and Bridgeville Parking Authority. He was a member of the Bridgeville – South Fayette Rotary Club and the former Bridgeville Area Chamber of Commerce. He also was a Governor’s appointee to the Mayview State Hospital Board of Trustees. Friends received Thursday, 2-4 and 6-9 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). Additional visitation on Friday, 10 – 11 AM, in Bethany Presbyterian Church, 740 Washington Ave., Bridgeville, where a funeral service will be held on Friday at 11 AM (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to First Baptist Church of Bridgeville Building Fund or the Parkinson Foundation Western Pennsylvania, 3468 Babcock Blvd., Pittsburgh, PA 15237.
