5-13-16 WAS SHOCKED AND SADDENED TO LEARN OF THE DEATH OF MY FRIEND, JOAN ZAKOR. JOAN WORKED FOR AN ATTORNEY ON THE SAME FLOOR IN PENN CENTER WHERE MY LATE HUSBANDS OFFICE WAS LOCATED. SHE AND HER HUSBAND, BILL ZAKOR VISITED OUR HOME. JOAN AND I BECAME EVEN CLOSER AFTER TOM DIED. WE EVEN VACATIONED TOGETHER , ATTENDED THE THEATRE ETC. MANY TIMES. SAD TO LOSE TOUCH AND THEN FIND OUT SHE IS GONE. MY DEPEST CONDOLENCES TO HER FAMILY AS WELL AS TO GARY. SHE WILL BE MISSED BY MANY.

Gerri and I were really looking forward to seeing the two of you here in Heritage Palms in Ft Myers, FL. Remember we had discussed playing Swiss Teams with you - we would have made a great team. We were honored that you would ask us Bridge Rookies to play with you. Joan was such a good bridge player but always a lady with a compliment if we happened to play a hand well. Our time together was cut way too short. Please know that we mourn your loss. You can be thankful that you enjoyed so many good times with her. A bridge partner - just like a life partner is to be cherished.

Dear Gary, Sherri and Steve - Joan and I were friends for sixty years! We always kept in touch - we both went through changes in our lives, but were always there for each other. Her faith was uppermost in her life. What an example she was to all of us. Peace, Joan..

"Aunt" Joan has been part of our family for 57 years. We will miss her laugh and optimism. She was Mom's best friend and their friendship is an example to all. They were always there for each other through all the challenges and joys. Steve and Sherry - let's keep it going. Love to you and Gary. Mary Ann Blum Owen
