Obituary of Pearl Mueller
MUELLER
PEARL
Age 90, of the Willows Retirement Community, Kennedy Township, passed away on December 15, 2015. Pearl was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, Kenneth and is survived by her loving daughter Bonnie (Robert) Kaschak, her brother Peter (Jean) Sekelick of Walnut Creek, CA and numerous nieces and nephews. Pearl and her husband Ken were residents of Upper St. Clair, PA for 50 years. Pearl was one of 12 children, born July 24, 1925, to Onifer and Julia Sekelick, who emigrated to the U.S. from Ukraine. Her mother passed away when she was three years old and she was subsequently raised by her loving father and older sisters. Pearl worked at different part time jobs, but she cherished most her position of sales associate at JJ Gillespie’s Art Gallery, which was located on Seventh Avenue in Pittsburgh. Her work at the gallery expanded her love and appreciation for fine art. After her retirement she attended art classes at the University of Pittsburgh and began to draw and paint memories of her travels in different parts of Europe, including Spain, and in Acapulco where she and Ken had a condo on the bay. Pearl was active in the Upper St. Clair Art League and had served as president; she and Ken were also active in the Upper St. Clair Senior Citizens Group in their later years. A special thanks to Allegheny Health Network Hospice for their loving care. Family and friends received on Sunday from 4-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 1 PM at Holy Child Parish. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Allegheny Health Network Hospice.
