GEORGE V.
Age 93, of Robinson, formerly of South Fayette, died peacefully on August 15, 2015. Born February 3, 1922, son of the late Harry and Freida (Arnold) West. Preceded in death by his beloved wife of 66 years, Helen (Radulovich) West and 4 brothers; loving father of Martin (Fran) West and George E. West; cherished grandfather of Douglas West, Brian (Becky) West and the late Captain Jason (Julie) West and brother of Helen (the late Dom) Rondinelli. A Veteran of the Battle of the Bulge, George served proudly in the 80th Infantry Division during WWII. He was a proud member of the 80th Infantry Division Veteran's Association and held office as a Public Relations Officer for many years. He was also a Mason and member of the VFW and American Legion. George retired from the PRR and Conrail after 41 years of service. Family and friends will be received on Wednesday from 3-8 PM, with a Pomen Service at 4 PM, at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333) and on Thursday at 10 AM at Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral with funeral liturgy, by the Very Reverend Rajko Kosic, to follow at 11 AM. PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH. Interment and military honors at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in memory of George to Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Cathedral, 450 Maxwell Drive Pittsburgh, PA 15236.
