Age 100, of Strabane Woods, formerly of Peters Twp. and Melbourne, FL, on June 24, 2015. Beloved wife of the late George Frederick Armsey, loving mother of Sandy (Chuck) Stankus of Hickory, cherished grandmother of Victoria (Jesse Redfield) Stankus of Castle Shannon and Derric (Bandrea Weber) Stankus of Bulger, sister of the late George (Margaret) Gardner, aunt of George (Betsy) Gardner, Doug (Mary) Gardner and Margie (Tom) McKay. Ellen grew up in Greensburg and attended Edinboro University, where she learned to appreciate the arts. While living in Peters Twp., she was a member of the McMurray Art League. She worked with oil and water color for her family and friends to enjoy. An avid gardener with an amazing green thumb, Ellen loved the outdoors. After retiring as a manager from Bell Telephone, she traveled extensively with her husband to Europe, Australia, Africa and South America. All arrangements will be private with interment at Arlington National Cemetery to be with her husband Commander G.F. Ramsey.
