Obituary of Adolph Yankovich
Age 92, WWII Veteran, lifelong member of Moose Lodge 172, SNPJ 245, Lawrence V.F.W. Post #8308 and American Legion, Post #944. Adolph Yankovich passed away peacefully at home on January 15, 2015. Born May 16, 1922 in Hill Station, son of Louis and Angela Yankovich. He lived his entire life in Lawrence. He was a well-known farmer for many years, selling vegetables every summer from his home. He retired from the State Liquor Control Board after 25 years. He served in France, Germany and England during WWII as an Army Private First Class. For his years of service he received a Victory Medal, Good Conduct Medal and 2 Bronze Stars. He was an avid animal lover and always had many dogs and cats. He married Rosmary Mills on September 12, 1964, who survives. They celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary last year. Also survived by daughters Angela (Chuck) Patnesky and Susan (Mark) Wilcox, most loved grandchildren Logan and Ethan Patnesky and Jake, Jenna and Jesse Wilcox, and many nieces and nephews. He was the last of his immediate family, preceded in death by his brothers Louis, John, and Tony and sister Mary Stacy. He was greatly cared for by Seven Oaks Hospice. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.
Friends will be received on Sunday from 2-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike Bridgeville, (412-221-3333), where a service will be held on Monday at 1PM. Interment with Full Military Honors to follow in Jefferson Memorial Park, Pleasant Hills.
