Obituary of James Ryan Turnley

JAMES RYAN
Age 92, of Upper St. Clair, passed away on December 13, 2014 with his loving daughters and grandson by his side. He was a devout Catholic and parishioner of St. Louise de Marillac Church. He was a devoted husband, loving father, grandfather and friend to all. He is a retired manager of Walker Porsche Audi and a decorated WWII veteran. He served with the U.S. Army Airforce as a top gunner. On his 24th mission, in a B29, they were shot down. They limped the damaged plane to the border of Sweden and parachuted to safety. Jim was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Mary Ann (Mandity) Turnley, his brother Howard Turnley and his sister Mary Gross. He is survived by daughters Elizabeth Ann Turnley and Jamie (Ron) Kean, grandson Ryan Kean and caregiver Sharon Nagy. Friends received on Wednesday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike Bridgeville, (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10:30 AM at St. Louise de Marillac Church.
