Obituary of Beatrice Ann Minkler

Age 74, of Bethel Park, died of heart failure Saturday May 3, 2014. Born July 28, 1939 in Arcata, California. Beloved and sadly missed wife of William, beloved mother of Tom (Los Angeles), Don (Carolyn, St. Louis), Margie (Eric Goldberg, Squirrel Hill) and Sharon (Shawn Richardson, Orlando, FL), beloved sister of Gordon MacGinitie. Bea was born and grew up in Arcata, California in the far northern redwood forests. She earned a degree in Home Economics at University of California, Berkeley, Married Bill in 1961 and lived in Bethel Park ever since, practicing home economics. Bea loved her volunteer jobs for more than 30 years at Peter's Township Meals Wheels, on the Altar Guild at Trinity Cathedral downtown and playing the piano for weekly Prayer Partners services at Kane Hospital, Scott. Bea enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren and train traveling with her husband. She also loved attending concerts, sports and special events at South Fayette High and Middle Schools. She wore green and white with great pride, and thrilled to the Little Green Machine. Friends will be received on Tuesday May 6, from 2-4 and 6-8 at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). Memorial service Thursday, May 8, 2:00PM at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 5801 Hampton St., in Pittsburgh's Highland Park neighborhood. In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated to South Fayette Foundation for Excellence (c/o Maureen Pedzwater, SF High School, 3640 Old Oakdale Rd., McDonald PA 15057) or Friends of Music at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church.
