When I was little, my Papa, King's uncle Warren, would always announce, "King is coming." My cousins and I were so excited because we thought a King, wearing his crown, would be coming to visit, and so he did. He made us laugh because he smiled with his eyes and wore rainbow striped shorts. I will miss you King.
My prayers are with all of you.
Love, Elyce Charletta

King's humor, wisdom and unrivaled knowledge of family history made him a master storytelling. He loved visiting with family and family loved visiting with him. He especially enjoyed being and talking about being "a Rainier," a birthright for which he was well-suited to act as torchbearer. He enriched us in many ways. Like his name "King" suggests, he was larger than life and can never be replaced in person or spirit. Nor will he ever be forgotten. I am sorry that I cannot join his family in Pennsylvania today and tomorrow, but I am thinking of them.

King was "one of a kind." There will never be another one to replace him. His humorous story-telling, his contagious laugh and hearty spirit - were gifts that he lavishly shared with his family and friends.
One of my favorite photos of King was taken about 1960. Here he is with his MG. My sister Diane is sitting in the driver's seat. King was part of our family's life as long as I can remember. Throughout our growing up years and our adult lives, we always looked forward to seeing our cousin King. He brought adventure, laughter, love and friendship beyond measure to our lives.
I send my prayers and love to all of you.
King will be in our hearts and our memories, always.
Love, Helaine and Anna Mae Rainier
