Obituary of Joshua James Willy
Age 49, of South Fayette Twp., from a tragic car accident on January 17, 2025. Beloved husband of Celena Willy, loving father of Nate, Ben, and Alex Willy, cherished son of Jim and Ann Willy, devoted brother of Micah (Julie) Willy and Seth Willy. Also, many loving aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. Josh was a 1993 graduate of South Fayette High School, where he served as a class officer. He excelled in the classroom as well as on the football field, baseball diamond and basketball court, earning numerous varsity letters. He was a 1997 graduate of Penn State University and earned his master’s degree from Penn State University in 1999. Mr. Willy taught at Penn Hills High School for 23 years, touching thousands of students lives throughout his career. He also received the “Teacher of the Month” award several times for his dedication to education. One of his favorite quotes was, “good, better, best…never let it rest until your good is better and your better is best!” Josh coached youth baseball, basketball and lacrosse for South Fayette Twp. for many years and recently started umpiring youth baseball. He was the #1 soccer dad for F.C.P travel soccer, cheering on his son Nate. He enjoyed golfing and especially working out daily at the gym. A very proud Penn State alumnus, Josh was a long-time football season ticket holder. Above all, he adored his family and loved vacationing with them at the beach. He will be sadly missed by all who knew and loved him, and he will remain forever in our hearts. “Well done, good and faithful servant”. Friends received Wednesday, January 22, from 4-8 pm and Thursday, January 23, from 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). The family request that everyone please wear Penn St. colors to the visitation, in memory of Josh. A Funeral Service will be held Friday, January 24, at 11 am, at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2040 Washington Rd., Upper St. Clair (EVERYONE PLEASE MEET AT CHUCH). Interment will be private.
