Obituary of John G. Boss

Age 96, of Bethel Park, PA passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 7, 2024, with his family by his side. Jack was born on April 5th, 1928, son of the late Philomena and Joseph Boss. He was the beloved husband of Barbara (Meinert) Boss to whom he was married for 64 years. He is survived by his three children, Jack Boss Jr (Beth), Jill Colussy (Jon) and Gary Boss (Colleen). Proud grandfather, known simply as “Pap”, to Julie, John, Matthew, Kelly, Jenna and Jocelyn and great-grandfather to Audrey, Caroline, Teagan and Bennie. He was the loving brother of Joe, Al, Bob, Len, Laverne, Helen, Thelma, Lois and Don. He is also survived by sister-in-law Mary Anne McIlwain (Tom) and late brother-in-law Bob Meinert (Nancy) along with a host of nieces, nephews and cherished friends and neighbors. Jack grew up in Mt Lebanon Pennsylvania, and served honorably in the Marine Corps, stationed in the Pacific, during WWII from 1945-1947. He was a proud member of Steamfitters Local 449 for over 40 years. He was an avid car and motorcycle enthusiast, and a founding member of the Dual Devils Hot Rod Club in Castle Shannon Pa. and Conneaut Lake water ski club. Family and friends received on Saturday, August 24th from 10 AM until 1 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333) in celebration of his life, with a blessing immediately following at 1PM.
