Janet E. Mosti Obituary

Janet Mosti, age 74 of Scott Township, PA passed away on April 14, 2024 after an unexpected, short and brave battle with metastatic cholangiocarcinoma.

Janet was born on January 30, 1950 to Frank and Helen Schullek in Bridgeville, PA. After Janet graduated from Chartiers Valley High School in 1967, she went on to become a wife, mother and owner/operator of a successful and loving family daycare in her home for 35 years. She instilled good values, a love of books, good nutrition, outdoor play, curiosity and love in all of the children in her care.

She was devotedly married to Dale Mosti and would have celebrated her 55th wedding anniversary with him this September. She was a dedicated sister and best friend to Noreen Sommer, a loving sister-in-law to Barry Mosti and sister to Frank Schullek. Janet was also a committed dog mom and cat mom to many rescue animals over the years. And she was the best and most supportive mother a kid could ask for to her only child, Dena Mosti.

Although she only had one child by birth, she had many that looked at her as a second mother and sounding board–Jessica, Bryan, Dawn, Lauren, Kristen, Racquel, Pierce, Tyler, Zachery and many others.

Janet was a very special woman and her passing leaves a huge hole for her family and friends that will never be replaced.
