Ila was a sweet and wonderful lady. My father enjoyed marching with her in many Memorial Day parades. She certainly had a life well lived. Our condolences to her family, Bill Coogan and family.

What an amazing life Ila lived... WOW!! I didn't know all that about her...but I'm not surprised!! I had the pleasure, and honor, of volunteer ushering with Ila, at the Benedum and Byham, many years ago. She was always kind, pleasant, upbeat... always with a smile on her face. What a lovely lady!! I told her that I knew her grandson, Brian...and that I would always go see him, in his band, back then. She was very proud of him. My deepest sympathies to the entire family.

I’m honored to have known Ila. She was a long time friend of my Aunt Eleanor Berge’s. They went to the service meetings together and marched in the Veterans Day parade together for many years. She was such a lovely lady. My condolences to her family.

I am so very sorry for your loss. Ila was a amazing woman. Paved the way for those that followed her. She will truly be missed. Met Ila at the VFW women's retreats held yearly...always looked forward to a chat on of course a picture. RIP IL Mary Johnston US ARMY VET
