Dear Lois, Jeff, Paul, Nancy and Kirk,
I was deeply saddened to hear about the passing of Bruce. He was not just a friend, but someone who shared many significant moments of my life. From our days in high school, through our college years at Pitt, where we resided together in The Towers, to being roommates in our apartment, Bruce was a constant source of friendship and support.
I was just talking about Bruce last summer as we had bought a house back in PIT to spend the summers with friends and family. My deep regret is that I did not reach out to Bruce last summer while we were getting settled and then time just got away from us. The message here is don't put off reaching out to a friend and giving him a hug because you just may not get the opportunity to do so. I wanted so much to see him and talk about old times and catch up on each others lives.
His kindness, humor, and genuine nature made him a cherished friend, and I will always treasure the memories we created together. Please accept my heartfelt condolences during this difficult time.
My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family as you navigate through this loss.
With sympathy,
Andy McGraw

Lois Anne's family was very important to my family when we were children and we spent a lot of time together. Something that I remember about Bruce was a time when his mother offered all of us cookies. I distinctly remember Bruce saying, "No! I just brushed my teeth". He was well disciplined and liked to be neat. A number of years ago Lois Anne told me how much she appreciated Bruce running the sweeper for her at her home. I did not know Bruce as an adult and am deeply saddened to learn of his death. My sympathy to all.

Dear family, may I offer you my sincere condolences. I am so sorry for your loss.
Bruce was a real angel, my “sweetheart” from the other side of the ocean. Bruce, I will miss you heavily. Your dedication to work, your open-mindedness in heart and thoughts, our discussions about the latest theater or music show or about the difference between European and American traditions – all that left a mark on how I see the world and how I try to approach people. I am so thankful for having that time with you.

I had the pleasure to know Bruce for over 20 years. He was a wonderful person, very kind, warm, and cheerful despite his illnesses. Always had a smile, and always asked how my son was doing in college. Will always have nothing but respect and fond memories of Bruce. Deepest sympathy to his family and close friends.

Hello Paul and Family,
We are so very sorry for your loss. We are heartbroken and we will miss our dear friend and colleague Bruce very much.
Bruce was one of the most remarkable and genuine human beings I ever had the fortune to be around. Bruce was not only a colleague for all of us, but he was also much more. If everybody in this world would only have 0,01% of his values, trades, love, and personality, this world would be a much better place. I am incredibly sad, but I am also happy for Bruce that he does not have to suffer from this terrible disease anymore. Over the past 2 weeks, I had many Hennecke colleagues globally reach out to me to ask how he is doing, if they can do anything for him, and that they want to pray for him.
I have never met a colleague who was loved by so many people.
He is and was a true angel.
We will all miss you dearly Bruce!
