Obituary of Walter T. Cielecy

Cielecy, Walter T. Age 80 of Bridgeville, PA. Beloved husband, brother, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, friend and 'Pappy' to many, passed away January 4, 2024. Loving husband of Susan Kissick Cielecy. Devoted father to Thomas (Reya), Diana (Bret) Meyer, Daniel and stepfather to Drew and Ryan Dunsworth. Most amazing grandfather to Coral, Liesl, Josef and Leila. Dearest brother of Marcella, the late Mary Katherine (James) Potanko, the late Stanley (Kristine), Kathereene (John) Kostiuk , Michael, and Marcee. First husband to Jean. Loving uncle to many nieces and nephews. Friend and "Pappy" to all. Oldest son of Walter and Sophie, Walt learned the value of hard work and care for others at an early age. His hard work and gifting in athletics landed him a football scholarship to the University of Arizona. Upon leaving there, he continued that hard work starting 'at the bottom' in Pittsburgh's steel industry and working his way to owning Custom Steel Products Inc. He continued working in the steel industry, using his expertise and wisdom, until his death. Walt was incredibly smart, driven, a calm presence in the midst of any storm, strength for others, a giver, a provider and biggest cheerleader of those he took under his wing. Although growing up in the catholic tradition, later in life Walt gave his life fully to Jesus Christ. We know that he is with Him now and complete in glory and joy. In lieu of a traditional funeral service, family will host a celebration of life service for Walt in the springtime of 2024.
