Obituary of Deborah Ann Ferczak

Ferczak Deborah Ann (Hritsko) Age 74, of Canonsburg, entered the kingdom of heaven on December 24, 2023, after a brief illness. She was born on September 10, 1949, in Canonsburg. A daughter of the late Peter and Helen B. (Tarnik) Hritsko. On July 16, 1971, she married her neighborhood sweetheart, Michael Robert Ferczak, at St. Michael’s Byzantine Catholic Church, Canonsburg. He died on October 1, 2005, with her by his side. Deborah Ann was a 1968 graduate of Chartiers Houston High School. She was a member of St. Benedict the Abbott Church, Peters Township. She enjoyed taking care of children and worked as a food service employee for Cecil Middle School in the Canon-McMillan School District. Deborah also helped her friend, Jeanette Seman, in her store Yesterday’s Clothes and Treasures. She loved being a mom and being with her precious grandchildren. She also enjoyed going to flea markets, vacationing at the beach, buying shoes, drinking Starbucks coffee, and Christmas time. Surviving is her fiancé, Bob Oravetz, three loving children, DeAnna Ferczak, of Canonsburg, Derek (Morgan) Ferczak, of Leechburg, and Dena (Greg) Simms, of Cecil, seven grandchildren, Bryn Ferczak, Avrey, Madden, Avery, and Rylan Ferczak, and Mallory and Miles Simms, a brother-in-law, David Dix, a niece, Amy (Michael) Resavage, and three nephews, Christopher (Mindy) Daugherty, Eric (Dana) Dix, and Victor (Becky) Dix. She is preceded in death by her baby son, Troy Brian, an infant brother, Peter Matthew Hritsko, and two sisters-in-law, Carol (Al) Cook and Helen Dix. Deborah had a huge heart and will be immensely missed by all those who were blessed to know her. Friends and family will be received on Friday, December 29th from 2-4 and 6-8 pm at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, December 30th at 9:30 am, at St. Benedict the Abbott Church of St. John XXIII Parish, Peters Twp. Entombment to follow in Forest Lawn Gardens mausoleum, Peters Twp.
