Obituary of Ella Mae (Russell) Lamonde

Age 84, of Scott Township, formerly of Brookline, died on Friday, December 8, 2023. Born on March 1, 1939, she was the daughter of the late Charles and Mary (Higgins) Russell. Preceded in death by her beloved husband of 64 years Regis Lamonde. Dear mother of Mark (Alexis), Lisa Blake and Shawn (Laura) Lamonde. Loving grandmother of Justin (Deanna), Miki (Jake), Tyler (Nicole), Robby (Maggie), Nico and Haylie. Great grandmother of Gavin, Dominic, Mark, Mia, Louis, Maddie, McKinley and Vincent. Sister of Charlie (JoAnn), Terry (Francine) and the late JoAnn and James. After raising her children, Ellie worked 25 years as a Paraprofessional in the Pittsburgh Public Schools at the Pioneer School in Brookline assisting children with special needs. She loved her job and made a positive impact on her kids. She was born and raised in the East Liberty section of Pittsburgh. She was a devout Catholic, whose death fell on the Feast Day of the Immaculate Conception, and extremely proud of her Irish heritage. She raised her family in Brookline and spent her later years in Scott Township. She spent her final peaceful hours with the people she loved most, which included her children, siblings and grandchildren. Ellie was the consummate jokester who loved to have a good time. She could light up a room, and she brought joy and laughter to everyone she encountered. She leaves behind a long list of friends, and she will be sorely missed. Family and friends at welcome on Sunday from 2-6 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10 AM at St. Margaret Church of St. Raphael the Archangel Parish.
