Obituary of Irene (Stubna) Pagliai

Irene Stubna Pagliai, age 98, on November 28, 2023. She was born in Scott Township to the late Ferdinand and Maria Stubna. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Ferdinand (Fred) Pagliai, where they lived in South Fayette and raised five children: Kathleen (Clyde) Miller, the late Susanne Varley, Mark (Mark) Pagliai, the late Kevin M. Pagliai and Caroline M. Pagliai. Grandma to Kevin C. Pagliai, Rachael Miller, Joshua Miller, Sarah Miller and Rebecca Watson. Great grandma to eight great grandchildren. Sister to Ida Clark, Mathilda Grandinetti, Mary Mondine, Theresa Michaels, Sister M. Edna Stubna, Sister Hilda M. Stubna, Steven Stubna, David Stubna, Ferdinand Stubna and Michael Stubna. Irene was a long-time parishioner of St. Barbara’s church, where she was in the choir and President of the Christian Mothers. Anyone who knew Irene knew not to interrupt her on “Scrabble Day”. She loved watching the Pittsburgh Penguins play and watched mass daily on the TV. She also loved music, spending time with the children, grandchildren and great grandchildren and attending the annual Stubna family picnic. Friends received on Wednesday December 6, 2023, from 2 pm – 4 pm and 6 pm to 8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville, PA 15017. Irene’s Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday December 7, 2023, at 12:30 pm, at St. Barbara Church of Corpus Christi Parish. Interment to follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, McMurray. In lieu of flowers, please send a donation to Little Sisters of the Poor, 1028 Benton Avenue, Pittsburgh, Pa 15217.
