Obituary of Sylvia H. Rojas
Sylvia “Chia” Rojas Cordero, 93, passed away peacefully on November 1 surrounded by her family.
Chia was born on July 23, 1930 in Collipulli, Chile. She immigrated to Pittsburgh in 1964 and became a proud U.S. citizen and Pittsburgh sports fan. She worked at Kane Hospital as a nurse’s aide for over 20 years and was a member of the Alliance Church for over 60 years. Chia raised 4 Seder children, 6 Schuman children, 3 Schuman grandchildren, cared for Virginia Schuman, Bella Solon, and Leon Schuman, and was loved by countless others who consider her family. Through her life of giving, Chia derived joy, gratitude, and love which she shared with many. She was truly one of a kind and will never be forgotten.
Visitation will be held at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333), on Sunday, November 5 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m. A funeral service will be held at Upper St. Clair Alliance Church, 2510 Old Washington Road on Sunday, November 5 at 1 p.m. Everyone please meet at church.
