Obituary of Agnes (Fink) Trybus

Agnes Fink Trybus, age 99 of Bridgeville. Peacefully on October 10, 2023. Agnes is now rejoicing in the arms of our Lord and Savior and is reunited with the love of her life, Harry J. Trybus who preceded her in death in 1982. Agnes was raised in a large and loving family of 13 children with a mother and father (the late Margaret and Chester Fink) who adored them all. Agnes told many happy and lively stories of growing up with her large family in a busy, full house on Boyce Road on the outskirts of Bridgeville. That magical childhood was shattered when Agnes’ beloved dad was killed in a delivery truck accident when she was just 12 years old and her mother was pregnant with their 13th child, Agnes’ youngest sister. Agnes’ mother kept her family together and often refused charity or handouts. This may explain how Agnes became such a strong, independent and self-sufficient woman. And perhaps, where her occasional stubborn streak may have come from. Agnes met Harry through relatives who set them up on a date. After a proper courtship, he asked her to marry him and on August 6, 1949, they became husband and wife. Children soon followed with oldest son Harry being born first, then Randy soon after. Their only daughter Joan came along a few years later and finally their youngest son Jeff completed their family. In 1982, Agnes’ life changed yet again, when her beloved Harry passed away just a few short weeks after being diagnosed with lung cancer. She was only 57 at the time and would spend the next 41 years keeping his memory alive by re-telling his life story and their life story, to her children and grandchildren. Agnes loved to garden and could grow just about anything. She was a talented seamstress, baker and candy maker. Her entire family were the grateful recipients of her made-with-love gifts such as scarves, hats, baby clothes, and personalized quilts and blankets. She also patiently taught her grandchildren many of these skills, even in her 90’s. Christmas Day festivities always included her grab bag gifts for young and old alike and dozens of cookies for everyone to enjoy. Easter Sunday celebrations were tables filled with homemade candy, colorful cookies, and Easter egg hunts. And no birthday celebration was complete without her grandkids’ favorite 7-layer Jell-O, homemade birthday cake and cupcakes. Over the last few years, dementia may have stolen Agnes’ ability to recognize us, but it can never take away the precious memories we have of her. We will remember her laughter that sounded like music to our ears, her witty, dry sense of humor, her seemingly endless energy, and her wise and loving guidance through the years. This is her legacy and it will embrace us like one of the many blankets she stitched so beautifully and gifted to us… wrapping us in her warmth and unending love, until we see her again. Agnes is survived by her children who adored her, Harry (Lee) Trybus, Randy (Ann) Trybus, Joan Stack, and Jeffrey (Lori) Trybus. She is also survived by 8 grandchildren whom she loved, laughed with, and taught so much; Holly (Mike) Biro, Bethany (Troy) Lucas, Andrew Trybus (Emily), Christina Stack (Dustin), Andrea Stack (Andrew), Lindsay Stack (Jacob), Alexandra (Jared) Trybus-Hess, and Abigail (Joshua) Gardner. Also surviving are sisters June Walsh and Catherine Roman, several great-grandchildren and a large extended family. She was preceded in death by sisters Eileen Douglas, Margaret “Peg” Mikus, Betty Jane DiPeitro and Genevieve Wagner and brothers Harold, Jack, Robert, Ronald, Russell and Glenn Fink. Family and friends received Friday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville 412-221-3333, where a Blessing Service will be held on Saturday at 11 AM.
