Obituary of Marlene (Bourg) Karney

Age 88, of South Fayette Twp., on June 24, 2023. Devoted wife of the late John for 64 years; mother of John, the late Dave and Mark (Mary Anne), grandmother of Peter (Brandy), Oliwia, Mateusz, and Patrycja; great grandmother of Brody and Anastasia; daughter of the late Anna (Saussol) and Henry Bourg; sister of Robert (Judy), George (Martie) and the late Henry (Irene), Richard (Virginia), Audrey (Sam) Hassick, Donald (Rose), Norman (his wife Mary “Babe” who survives), Reda (late Tom) Eger, Ray (his wife Sherle who survives), and Mary Lou (Tom) Westwood; sister-in-law of the late Jenny (her husband Jim who survives) Gelston; also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Marlene was a lifetime parishioner of Holy Child Church, now Corpus Christi, and a member of the Christian Mothers and South Fayette Senior Citizens. Marlene enjoyed having her family for dinner and other special occasions. She loved watching Penguins hockey games. Family and friends received on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10 AM at Holy Child Church of Corpus Christi Parish. Donations may be made to Little Sisters of the Poor or Sisters of Divine Providence.
