Age 93, of Scott Twp., on March 3, 2023. Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Davoren, loving mother of Patti Darnley and the late Tim Darnley, Maureen (Scott Hodgdon) Davoren, Aileen (Tom) Frost and Joe (Tina) Davoren; devoted Mommom of Michael (Samantha) Darnley, Brittany Darnley, Nicholas (Anakin) Frost, Courtney Frost, Anthony Frost, Grant Davoren, Michael (fiancé Jenna) Gardner, Gia (fiancé Daryn) Gardner, and David (Melissa) Gardner and; great-Mommom of Remington Darnley, Myah and Archer Frost and Mark and Bodhi Gardner, sister of Una (the late Jerry) Malzen, late Tess (Martin) Slattery, the late Michael (Jennifer) O’Callaghan, the late Chris (the late Arthur) Clarke, Maureen (the late Peter) James, and Margaret (the late Harry) Waters, also survived by many nieces and nephews. Born in Galway, Ireland to Dennis and Ellie Garvey O’Callaghan, Helen fondly remembered her younger days when she was an active child who enjoyed hurling, tennis, and badminton. After traveling Europe and Canada, Helen moved to the United States where she met the love of her life, Joe Davoren, at a dance. During their life together, Helen was a longtime member of the Women’s Guild at Our Lady of Grace Church and she enjoyed dancing, reading, sewing, and playing Bridge with her card club group. Helen enjoyed being with her family which she shared unconditional love, unmatched by many. Helen spent her last few days with her family and friends before joining her husband in heaven where they’ll continue their dancing together. Friends received Friday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 10am, at Holy Child Church of Corpus Christi Parish, Bridgeville. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to one’s own favorite charity in memory of Helen.
