Obituary of Sadie Mae (Whittle) White
Sadie Mae (Whittle) White, a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother, passed away on March 5, 2023, at the age of 94. She was preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Chester White, and her daughters Sharon (the late Walter) Butler and Lydia Richardson. She is survived by her daughter Doris White-Hudson, her son-in-law Lloyd Richardson, seven grandchildren, nine great grandchildren, and a host of nieces and nephews.
Sadie was born to Lily Bernice (Grayson) and Addison Sims Whittle and grew up in Wetumpka, Alabama, West Virginia and finally settling in Bridgeville, PA. She was a devoted caregiver, taking care of her parents, her husband, and her daughter prior to their passing. She was also a volunteer at Kane Community Living Center in Scott and St. Clair Hospital. She and her husband opened their home to the Lost Boys of the Sudan, providing them with a safe and loving environment.
Sadie was an active member of the First Baptist Church of Bridgeville, where she impacted many as a Sunday school teacher. She was an avid gardener, baker, and reader, and she adored her grandchildren.
Family and friends are welcome to gathered on Tuesday to pay their respects at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc. in Bridgeville, where they will receive visitors from 10 AM until the time of service at 12 PM. The interment followed at Melrose Cemetery.
Sadie will be remembered for her kind heart, her unwavering faith, and her love for her family and community. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her, but her legacy will live on through the countless lives she touched during her 94 years of life.
