Although I only had the chance to know Michael for a short amount of time, he had a huge impact and presence in my life. I am devastated that he is no longer here. He was the most thoughtful, compassionate, empathetic, funny, supportive person I've ever had the privilege to know and love. My prayers go out to Mike's family, friends, neighbors and acquaintances. The world feels so quiet without him here.

To Mike's Mom: I was Mike's current next door neighbor and friend. I want to thank you for raising such a thoughtful and kind person. Mike has kept an eye on me ever since my daughter died last year from cancer. She was 39. He often texted or knocked on my door to check if I needed anything. And when he made his famous chicken Parmesan, he would bring a dish over to me. Such a thoughtful young man. My heart is with you as I know the pain of losing a child. My condolences to Mike’s family, Jordan, and all his friends. I met Mike in Okinawa and our friendship was instant and has given me so many great memories as we stayed in touch regularly over the last 25 years. He would always ask about my family in our conversations, he had such a kind heart. Mustangs, Steelers games, and golf. I’ll never forget any of the time we shared. RIP Koval

My deepest condolences to the family and loved ones. This news weighs heavily on me, as it is heart breaking to hear of any fallen brother. I served with Mike in The Stumps, and in Okinawa. We were pretty close friends in both places. We kept loosely in touch over the years, wishing it was more. Gone, but never forgotten!
