Dear Mrs. Van Eman
I want to express my condolences for your loss. My name is Richard Mickle. Eddie was my first and the best friend I ever had. We went to school together in Grades 5 through 9. The last time I saw Eddie was at my wedding in June 1955 when he and two other former classmates came to the wedding. After that I regrettably lost track of him. I have made several unsuccessful attempts to find him over the years including a trip to Canonsburg. My Sister-in-law in eastern PA. remembered me speaking of Eddie over the years and she still reads the Washington paper is how I learned about him today.
I lived a block away from Eddie and we made many excursions into the woods on a lot of weekends. Eddie first introduced me to the church where we went to Sunday School and played basketball in the church league. Eddie once told me that family and having children was the real reason for our existence. I was always impressed with that statement and it has remained with me ever since.
God bless you and your family.
Sincerely,
Richard Edward Mickle
