Obituary of Richard Allen Thompson
Age 78, of Upper St. Clair, on September 16, 2022. Beloved husband of Debbie (Johnston) Thompson for 37 years; cherished son of the late David and Nance (Stumper) Thompson; loving father of Mark (Laura) Thompson, Kim (Andy) Rios, Stacey (Dennis) Huet, Scott Kelly and Lindsay (Eddie) Carter; preceded in death by 6 of his siblings, he is survived by sister Patricia Amstadt and brother Mort Thompson; proud grandfather of Lauren, Alex, Brianna, Mackenzie, Owen, Max, Jake, Harper, Hadley, and Haisley; also survived by many nieces and nephews. A Veteran of the U.S. Air Force, Richard Served from 1962-1966 as a dog trainer. He was an animal lover and avid sports fan. He will be remembered for his love of playing golf, watching all sports, and storytelling. Although he lived in Pittsburgh, his heart was always in Milwaukee, WI, where he was born and many of his loved ones still reside. He loved taking his family back to his hometown each year and made Milwaukee their second home. His favorite pastime was bragging about his grandchildren and watching them play sports. Family and friends received on Friday from 3-6 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc. 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333), where a service will be held immediately following at 6 PM.
