I met Bill at Judy's Java. What a remarkable man! He was a delight to all of the regulars at Judy's...even had his own "Judy's" coffee mug with his name on it. It was an honor to have known him. Rest in peace, Bill.

This is a great loss of a sweet and brilliant man. He was so much fun to work with at Bettis and his lecture on the history of the program was legendary as it was so well done, both humorous and informative. I was so flattered as when I was invited (at his request) to his retirement party, I considered it an honor. He always made me smile when I saw him. The Lord must have needed another angel to help with the music and he certainly has one now. Keep them grinning Bill!

My sincere condolences to the Minkler Family on the loss of a fantastic and wonderful man. I had the privilege of taking several courses taught by Dr. Minkler at the BRES. Bill had a unique gift for making the most complex issues understandable through his command of and insight into the subjects; and to this he added a healthy dose of humor.
May you always walk and talk with God.

Bill was a pleasure to work with. He made everything nuclear seem simple. Joyce, Donna, Janet and I (Rosie) did his technical calculations and laughed at his jokes and witty comments. I will always smile when I think of him and LWBR when we were all in our 20's.

Sincerest condolences to Bill's family. Though I didn't have the opportunity to work with Bill, his reputation set the stage for much of our work at Bettis. His articles for the Nuclear Society were top notch and always entertaining and to the point. I would have to disagree with the engineer who disparaged humor in engineering. Bill's humor was always appropriate and on target. As a church organist myself, I can appreciate the countless hours Bill spent to do his work, extracurricular activities and support his family. He was an explosion of good energy and displayed it with wonderful humor. With admiration and fondness, Mike Sting

My condolences to the Minkler family on their loss of a great and wonderful fellow. I was at Bettis during Bill's tenure and always considered him to be the Richard Feynman of the Laboratory's program . A great instructor , a terrific colleague and a delight to be around . His sense of humor as displayed in his weekly Nuclear News column was terrific and much appreciated by those of us who toiled with him in the NR vineyards . Mike Panczyk

Our very deepest sympathy to Bill's family. He was a witty, brilliant and talented human being. We knew Bill throughout our years at Bettis, our years at St. David's and eventually through his attendance at South Fayette games where our grandson played basketball. He and Bea were as big South Fayette fans as we were. He will be sadly missed by many. Ruth & Rod Elder

I am so sorry to hear of Bill's passing and my condolences to his family. Bill was among one of the first people that I met at Bettis on my first day September 17, 1962. I enjoyed several wonderful years working with Bill on the Light Water Breeder Reactor Project. I really appreciated his help and encouragement during my early years at Bettis.

We were so sorry to hear of Bill's passing. Bill worked for years with my dad, Clyde Vogeley, who truly appreciated his sense of humor and writing. We currently have his book on our shelf and would have to agree. He was a good friend to my dad and we enjoyed staying in touch via Christmas cards over the years. Praying God will comfort your hearts as you grieve.

I had the pleasure of working with Bill for a few years in OT and attending his retirement gathering. What a brilliant and good man. He leaves more good footprints on this earth than most of us can imagine.
Rest In Peace Bill and I hope you brought your wit to heaven with you. Jeff Dufault

The best of the best….The Minklers knew more about the South Fayette students than most parents did! God bless them as they are now reunited in joy. Condolences to the Minkler Clan, their friends, and their “adopted” SOUTH FAYETTE family.
