James was a legend and an amazing engineer. Once, the architectural firm I was working at asked him to review a foundation that was installed improperly. First he quipped, 'What's holding this up?' After quickly finding a solution, he smiled said 'cool'. While I'll miss him, his warmth, generosity, and whit give me comfort. His family is in my thoughts and prayers.
