Obituary of Frank J Bongiorni

Age 92, of Scott Twp., on July 15, 2012. He was born on May, 14, 1920, in Cuddy. A son of Angelo and Yolanda Bresciani Bongiorni. On August 27, 1946, he married Helen (Mauti) Bongiorni, who survives. Loving father of David (Linda) of Hermitage, PA. Dennis D.P.T. (Mary) of Durham, NC and the late Gary (Jackie) of Brisbane, Australia, grandfather of Christopher (Tami) Bongiorni, Jaime (Richard) Catalogna, Michele (Jason) Orellana, Andrea (Adam) Swift, Peter Bongiorni and Gary Bongiorni Jr., brother of Georgina (Jack) Townsend and the late Clelia Svidunovich and Dante Bongiorni, also 4 great-grandchildren. Frank was a retired analytical chemist for Universal Steel Corp. and a veteran of WWII, serving in the U.S. Navy. A lifetime member of V.F.W. Post #586, Cuddy, where he served as quarter master for many years. He was secretary-treasurer of Visionary Credit Union, Bridgeville, and served on the board of Directors for the Pittsburgh Chapter of Credit Unions. Since 1972, Frank was a Eucharistic Minister at Our Lady of Grace Church. He enjoyed playing tennis and golf. Friends received Tuesday, 7-9 PM and Wednesday, 2-4 & 7-9 Pm, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Thursday, 10 AM, in Our Lady of Grace Church. Interment to follow in Holy Souls Cemetery, Moon Twp. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Grace School.
