75, of South Fayette, died peacefully surrounded by his family on Tuesday July 10. Loving and devoted husband of 40 years to Carol (Bioni) Villani, beloved father to Amy (David) Egan, cherished brother to Jerilyn Vitelli, best "Pappy" in the world to Alexandra and Elizabeth Egan, dependable Uncle to Tracy and Andy Valko and Theodore and Jenn Vitelli, proud great uncle to Cole and Mitch Valko and Maura Vitelli, cousin and uncle to many Villanis and Bionis, and reliable friend to many. Born in Morgan, PA in 1936 to Aldo and Lillian (Orchowsky) Villani, and graduated from South Fayette High School in 1954 where he played basketball, soccer, and was football captain and All-WPIAL end. He attended Clemson University on a football scholarship, then enlisted in the US Army before becoming a police officer in South Fayette Township. Buck served a total of 44 years on the South Fayette police force, 27 years as Chief. He presided over the growth of the police force from 5 officers to 21, and under his watch South Fayette was named the safest community in the USA. He is a past President of both the Allegheny and Western PA Chiefs of Police Associations, a graduate of the FBI National Academy, and a former President of the FBI NA State and Western Chapters. He was named Man of the Year by the Bridgeville Chamber of Commerce, and served as a commissioner in South Fayette Township. Ted was truly a public servant in every sense, well known for supporting and helping others in every aspect of his life. His life was firmly anchored in his family, and his devotion to and support of them was limitless. His mark on this world was larger than life, and he will be greatly missed.
