Obituary of Barry Charles Ford

Barry Charles Ford, of Pittsburgh, PA, went to be with his Lord and Savior on December 16, 2021. Barry was born on July 30, 1958 in Ivyland, PA to H. Charles and Marguerite Ford. He graduated from Lower Moreland High School where he played baseball and water polo and spent summers with his two brothers, Michael and Mark, in Ocean City, NJ. He received his bachelor’s degree from the University of Pittsburgh, where he was an All-American water polo player and was a brother of Sigma Chi. He then attended Duquesne University where he received a law degree and met his wife Denise Wilsher. Upon graduation, he worked for the Park Corporation. He married Denise on June 22, 1985, in Pittsburgh, PA, and they were married for thirty-six years. In 1996, Barry started work as a real estate developer at Continental Real Estate Companies, where he served as the President of Development for twenty-five years. During his time at Continental, he developed the Waterfront, the North Shore, and Pittsburgh Airport projects, among many others, resulting in cherished business friendships. Throughout his adult life, Barry’s Christian faith was the driving force in his life and he shared his faith with all he knew. His love for Christ led to his consistent involvement at the South Hills Bible Chapel and Yahve Jire Children’s Foundation, an orphanage and school in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. Barry led men’s Bible studies with business executives in Pittsburgh as well as with men in the south hills for twenty years. He loved traveling with his wife and enjoying a nice glass of wine. Barry loved spending time with his family most of all and coached all of his kids in sports throughout the years. Barry is survived by his wife, Denise; his four children, Alex Ford, Hilary Wisniewski (Stefen), Erika Hart (Kevin), and Mitchell Ford. He is survived by his parents, H. Charles and Marguerite Ford, his brothers Michael Ford (Helen), Mark Ford (Stephanie), and his mother-in-law, Kathy Wilsher. A celebration of life service will be held at 10:00am Tuesday, December 21, 2021, at South Hills Bible Chapel, 300 Gallery Drive, McMurray PA 15317. Luncheon at the Bible Chapel to follow. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Yahve Jire Children’s Foundation at http://yjcf-us.org/contact/ or checks may be mailed to 1258 Chartwell Drive, Upper St Clair, PA 15241.
