Beloved husband of Dianne (Dolde) Franjione, loving father of John (Inge) Franjione II, Mark (Terry) Franjione, Gregg (Laurene) Franjione, Grant (LaVonne) Franjione, and Lynnette (Jack) Kelley, devoted grandfather of Emily, Noah, Anna, Samuel (Anne), Jesse, Benjamin, Kelsey (Jonathan Beaton), Bradley, Paige, and Lila, step-grandfather of Eric, Elizabeth, and Amy, brother of Albert (Mary) Franjione and the late Joseph (Munaii) Franjione, also survived by 2 great-grandchildren, 8 step-great-grandchildren, and many loving nieces, nephews, and cousins. John served as a Congressional page in Washington, D.C. as a teenager, which earned him the nickname “Truman” from classmates, and quarterbacked his high school football team. He graduated from South Fayette High School in 1949, and was a veteran of the Korean War, serving in the U.S. Navy. John also was a graduate of Robert Morris Business College, and retired in 1993 from his job as Business Manager for Canon-McMillan School District for which he so proudly served. A devoted public servant, he was a past president of Bridgeville Borough Council and a former member of Chartiers Valley School Board. John served as financial secretary for the Bridgeville Italian Club for many years and a member of S.N.P.J, Sygan #6. He was a true outdoorsman, who enjoyed hunting, fishing, golfing, and archery. He also enjoyed many years dancing, bowling, and traveling the U.S. and abroad with his wife Dianne and many friends. For years, John and Dianne enjoyed attending most of the cultural events in Pittsburgh. He was extremely devoted to his faith and active in the Corpus Christi Parish community, and was a friendly fixture at Daily Mass the past several years of his life. Most of all, he loved his family, cherished his wife for 61 years, had the patience of Job, and beamed peace and joy to those in his presence. Friends received Sunday, 2-4 and 6-8 pm, at the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, 10:30 am, at Holy Child Church of Corpus Christi Parish, 212 Station St, Bridgeville, PA 15017.
