Obituary of Rosario Alessandro, Jr.

Rosario (Ross) S. Alessandro Jr., 81, of Upper St. Clair (formerly of East Pittsburgh), died October 1, 2021, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. He was born on February 10, 1940, to Josephine (nee Andolina) and Rosario Alessandro Sr. in East Pittsburgh, PA. He married Judith Delach on April 4, 1973 and they had two children, Rosario (Ross) III and Joseph. Per Ross, he thanks God for his wonderful and loving wife, Judith, and is very proud of his sons Ross and Joseph for the upstanding men they have become. Ross is survived by his wife of 48 years, Judith, sons Ross (Terri) and Joseph (Jennifer), grandchildren Rosario IV, Anna, Sebastian, Jolina, and Josephine Alessandro, Godchildren Robert Ilgenfritz, Alessandra Cuteri Slenker, and Brittany Alessandro and a number of loving nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by three brothers, Carl, Anthony, and Joseph Alessandro and three sisters Carmella Alessandro, Lena Truxal, and Antoinette Durnell. (412.221.3333) A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 10 AM at Holy Child Church of Corpus Christi Parish, with the Rev. Sean Hogan, C.S.Sp. officiating. Interment will follow at Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery, Peters Township, PA. Pallbearers will be sons Ross and Joseph Alessandro, nephews Joseph Alessandro and Frank Cuteri, and grandsons Rosario and Sebastian Alessandro.
