Obituary of Charles Nelson Schardong

Age 80, of Upper St. Clair, formerly of Bridgeville, on April 24, 2021. Beloved husband of Karen (Nail) Schardong for 57 years; son of the late Charles and Mildred Schardong; loving father of Charles D. (Amanda-Claire) Schardong and Stacey Field; cherished grandfather of Alyssa (Mike) Schardong, Tara Schardong, Emma Field and Patrick Field; brother of John (Lee) Schardong, of Philadelphia, PA. Charles served proudly for 20 years with the U.S. Air Force, retiring as a Lieutenant Colonel. He worked for 10 years as Assistant Dean of Administration at the University of Pittsburgh Law School. He excelled in woodworking and enjoyed all sports, especially tennis and golf. Family and friends received on Tuesday from 6-8 PM at the Warchol Funeral Home Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412.221.3333), where a service will be held on Wednesday at 11:30 AM. Interment and full military honors to follow at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org.
