Obituary of Ruth G. Leierzapf

Leierzapf Ruth G. (Rost) Age 92, of Greentree, on May 16, 2012. She was born on September 24, 1919 in McKeesport. A daughter of the late John H. and Philomenia Fleck Rost. On August 13, 1942, she married Roland A. Leierzapf, who died on March 9, 1983. Ruth was a 1940 graduate of Mercy School of Nursing and worked as a registered nurse at Mercy Hospital. She was a member of Scott Twp. AARP and Greentree Senior Citizens, where she served as travel coordinator for both organizations. She enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting and playing Bridge. Surviving are four sons; Robert (the late Janet) Leierzapf of Bridgeville, Ron (Roberta) Leierzapf of South Fayette, Richard Leierzapf of Dormont and Roy (Susan) Leierzapf of Elkridge, MD, four grandsons; William, Jeffrey, John and Jeremy Leierzapf, also 4 great-grandchildren. Friends received Friday, 2-4 & 7-9 PM, in the Warchol Funeral Home, Inc., 3060 Washington Pike, Bridgeville (412-221-3333). A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Saturday, 1 PM, in Holy Child Parish. Interment to follow in Melrose Cemetery, South Fayette Twp.
